We spent the week of Thanksgiving at Disney and had an absolutely magical trip! Read more here, here, here, here, here, and here. When I booked the trip last winter, I started thinking about durable and meaningful items to use for character autographs. We’ve done the autograph books, which only survive a few weeks post trip as the kids love to enthusiastically flip through and tear out pages. I thought surely there were ingenious ideas out there.
Many online searches later, I narrowed it down to:
- Pillow case
- Photo mat frame
- Round ornament for the Christmas tree
I really liked the idea of a pillow case. It can be personalized with a monogram and it would be easy to carry around in a backpack. I shelved this idea for our Disney cruise next spring.
The photo mat frame would also be cool. But it lost some appeal as I tried to determine the best way to carry it around with us. I was afraid it would get crushed or wet so eventually vetoed this idea.
That left a round ornament for the Christmas tree. I found a large, red, shatter-proof ornament at Dollar Tree that was a winner. There was enough space for the characters to sign, the finish was such that a Sharpie would produce a permanent result, and the price could not be beat!
Now, I have a beautiful keepsake that I can use for years to come.
