A Visit to the State Capitol and a No-sew Disney Cruise Line T-shirts

Grand dual staircases built by Horace King (a freed slave) in the Alabama State Capitol

Earlier this month, the DH and I helped chaperone Blinky’s field trip to the Alabama State Capitol and State Archives. What fun! She enjoyed seeing everything she’d been learning about in her history class and eagerly answered the docent’s questions. The DH and I were so proud! (Stinky went on this field trip last year, but sadly I missed it.)

Isn’t this rotunda in the Capitol gorgeous?

This year marks Alabama’s bicentennial. There will be a flurry of activities mid-December. The State Archives have a kids’ day planned, which I think we’ll attend.

After the field trip, I finally tackled our Disney cruise t-shirts that had been on my to-do list for a few weeks. Armed with t-shirts from Michaels, a quilter’s fat quarter, and transfer paper, I whipped up four no-sew Disney t-shirts in less than an hour. I posted a tutorial for no-sew Disney t-shirts here for those of you wondering how I did it.

We cruise in just over two weeks. I’m thrilled to bits that I’ve managed to keep the surprise from the kids. Can’t. Hardly. Wait.
