Disney Destiny Adults-Only Review: All the Things We Did (and We’d Do Again!)

Ready to Experience the Disney Destiny for Yourself?

Mr. FamTrav and I have known for years that Disney hits differently when it’s just the two of us. Without racing to the next ride or negotiating snack stops, we get to slow down and appreciate the details that Disney does so well.

This summer, we stepped aboard the Disney Destiny and quickly realized this wasn’t just a family cruise ship with a few adult spaces tucked away. It felt like a destination designed to let grown-ups enjoy Disney storytelling in an entirely new way. Between late-night cocktails, peaceful mornings by the water, luxurious spa time, and some of the best themed lounges we’ve ever experienced, this may have been our favorite adult vacation yet.

Quiet Cove

Within hours of boarding, we found ourselves gravitating toward Quiet Cove. The energy shifts the moment you arrive. The sounds of family fun fade into the background, replaced by the gentle splash of water and the steady rhythm of the ocean beyond the ship.

Cove Café

We loved stopping by throughout the day. In the morning, it became our quiet coffee shop at sea. Later in the afternoon, it transformed into the perfect place to escape the sun for a while and recharge before evening activities.

Senses Spa & Rainforest Room

The moment we stepped into the Rainforest Room, the pace of the cruise seemed to slow down. The lighting softens, conversations become whispers, and the outside world starts to fade away.

We alternated between the heated loungers, steam rooms, and relaxation spaces. There is something especially peaceful about reading/napping wrapped in complete silence and comfort.

The Outdoor Oasis is an open-air relaxation space connected to the Rainforest experience. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy the fresh sea air while still enjoying all the benefits of a spa day.

Untangled Salon & Hook’s Barbery

The Disney Destiny brings storytelling into every corner of the ship, and even the salon experiences feel immersive.

Untangled Salon draws inspiration from Rapunzel and features beautiful purple and gold accents throughout the space. Hair services, manicures, pedicures, skincare treatments, and more are available for guests looking to add a little extra pampering to their vacation.

Meanwhile, Hook’s Barbery offers a sophisticated men’s grooming experience inspired by Captain Hook. And if you have a very keen eye, you’ll eventually discover the entrance to a hidden bar. Tucked neatly inside is a lounge serving premium bourbons, whiskeys, rums, and specialty spirits. It’s one of the most unique adult experiences onboard and a must-visit for cocktail enthusiasts.

Even if you’re not booking a treatment, these spaces are worth exploring simply for the Imagineering details. Disney could have created a standard salon and barbershop, but instead they turned them into storytelling experiences that seamlessly fit the ship’s heroes-and-villains theme.

The Lounges

De Vil’s

Walking into De Vil’s feels like stepping into Cruella’s private lounge. Every detail is bold, dramatic, and a little over-the-top in the best possible way. Between the live music, stylish décor, and expertly crafted cocktails, we found ourselves lingering far longer than we intended.

The Sanctum

Marvel fans assemble! Inspired by Doctor Strange, this lounge combines mystical storytelling with imaginative cocktails and unique effects. During the day, it’s more family friendly, but in the evenings it transforms into a sophisticated gathering spot with live entertainment and inventive drinks.

Haunted Mansion Parlor

The Haunted Mansion Parlor quickly became our favorite nighttime hangout. Every visit revealed something we hadn’t noticed before. A portrait shifts. A mysterious sound echoes from somewhere unexpected. A hidden detail appears when you least expect it.

What makes this space so special isn’t just the themed cocktails. It’s the feeling that the story is unfolding around you while you sit there. We could have easily spent an entire evening searching for every hidden detail and still left convinced we’d missed a few.

Cask & Cannon

Inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean, this venue features nautical details, an impressive rum selection, sports broadcasts, and a welcoming energy that makes it easy to settle in for the evening.

Cast Members told us they heard there are Disney ships hidden in the ceiling design, though they never found them. We searched and searched, but have yet to find them ourselves. Looks like we need to go back.

Adults-Only Dining

The Rose

Before dinner, we made our way to The Rose and immediately understood why so many guests recommend arriving early. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame endless ocean views, while elegant design touches inspired by Beauty and the Beast create a sophisticated atmosphere.

Watching the sun begin to set over the water with a handcrafted cocktail in hand felt like the perfect start to date night at sea.

Palo Steakhouse

Palo Steakhouse managed to feel both upscale and comfortable at the same time. The service was exceptional without feeling too formal, and every course felt thoughtfully prepared.

The experience is luxuriously unhurried. Instead of rushing through dinner, spend hours enjoying the meal, the conversation, and the ocean views. It reminded us why adults-only dining is such a worthwhile part of a Disney cruise.

Enchanté

For guests seeking an elevated fine-dining experience, Enchanté is the ultimate choice.

Created in partnership with Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Lallement, this adult-exclusive restaurant delivers refined cuisine, impeccable presentation, and an atmosphere worthy of a special occasion.

Imagineering the Disney Destiny

If you think you’ve fully appreciated the Disney Destiny after exploring it on your own, think again. The Imagineering tour completely changed the way we looked at the ship.

Suddenly, artwork wasn’t just artwork. Decorative details became storytelling elements. Hidden tributes to Disney history appeared in places we had walked past multiple times without noticing.

And spoiler alert, our guide confirmed there are no Disney ships hidden in the ceiling at Cask & Cannon. Ha!

Dr. Facilier’s Parlor

Tucked away inside Disney Studio on Deck 5 midship, Dr. Facilier’s Parlor is one of the Disney Destiny’s best hidden gems. The venue is intentionally difficult to find, but Cast Members are happy to guide guests directly to the entrance. Guests are admitted in very small groups of around 10 people, making the experience feel exclusive from the moment you step inside. With soft jazz playing in the background, rich purple accents throughout the room, and Dr. Facilier himself waiting by a small table, the setting immediately captures the character’s unmistakable New Orleans charm.

During the visit, Dr. Facilier selects three guests he claims possesses intuition and the gift and invites them to participate in an interactive performance. Blending close-up magic, humor, and audience engagement, he quickly wins over the room while staying perfectly in character.

Photos are not permitted inside, which helps preserve the mystery and immersive atmosphere.

Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay

By the time we arrived at Serenity Bay, we were reminded why so many adult Disney cruisers consider it the highlight of Castaway Cay.

The beach feels wonderfully removed from the activity found elsewhere on the island. The turquoise water is calm, the sand is impossibly soft, and the atmosphere encourages you to do absolutely nothing except relax.

We spent hours alternating between swimming, lounging, and admiring the view, occasionally reminding ourselves that yes, this was still a Disney vacation.

After spending several days exploring everything from hidden lounges and themed cocktails to luxurious spa spaces and peaceful adults-only retreats, I can confidently say it exceeded our expectations.
