Last month I had the pleasure of staying at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana for a FAMiliarization training. FAM trips give travel professionals the opportunity to learn as much as we can about a property, get to know the management team, and experience the amenities for ourselves so that we can better qualify our clients. So how was the trip? PHENOMENAL!
Why Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana? Apart from the dynamic rock ‘n roll vibe, it has something for everyone: multigenerational families, couples, girls’ trips, bachelors’ party trips, destination weddings, and incentive groups. As an all-inclusive property, a tremendous amount is already included, e.g. meals and beverages, kids club, most daytime and nighttime activities, etc. But the resort goes a step further with engaging extras ($) like laser tag, an escape game, an arcade, a VR room, a wine-tasting experience, mini golf, and the all-new Awaken Your Senses – an immersive, interactive, multi-sensory dining experience.
So many Instagrammable opportunities. If you don’t know, these photo ops are everything for social media!
Caribbean Suite King with Sofa Bed
This very large property is approximately 65% renovated, with the remaining rooms to be completed by the end of 2023. I stayed in a Caribbean Suite King with Sofa Bed, which is a renovated room category. It is just off the main lobby, convenient to dining and shopping. How pretty is this?!
I am a total mattress snob and slept like a baby during my stay. The suite was perfectly designed and supremely spacious.
On our property tour, we saw multiple room categories including the Rock Suite Presidential 2-Bedroom, which is ah-may-zing!
The Pools
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana has 13 sprawling pools, including one adult-only pool and a lazy river, and a whopping four swim-up bars. This should give you an idea about the property’s scale.
I LOVE palapa roofs and appreciate how the resort incorporated them all over.
Fun Fact: Punta Cana is named after the fan-shaped Cana palm leaves that populate the area. It is these leaves that are used to make the palapa roofs. They’re said to last about 15 years.
The Beach
There were red flags for the duration of our stay, but we did get to check out the shore. The water is so pretty and the sand is sugar soft with a hint of pink.
Cabanas are available for rent. The palapas are first come, first serve.
Dining
Ah, so many options. There are 10 dining venues on property, with a new vegan concept on the way. I’ve already referenced Awaken Your Senses. AND there is an ice-cream parlor, food truck/cart options, and in-room dining.
I think I covered a lot in the name of research. What do you think? Ha!
For you night owls, there are food options available late into the night. Or super early in the morning, depending on how you classify time. LOL!
Rockaway Waterpark
It’s always great to have options, and the waterpark is a super fun alternative to a beach day. And peep that swim-up bar for kids! All the heart emojis!!
Entertainment
Nightly entertainment options are a fabulous way to end the evening. The theatre hosts a variety of shows like Lion King Show, Michael Jackson, and DJ Beats. Photos not allowed.
Rock Spa
Rock Spa is the largest spa in the Dominican Republic and offers a full service of treatment options. This is perfect for a bridal party, which the bridal suite can accommodate.
Hard Rock Casino
Like the spa, the casino is the largest in the Dominican Republic. It features over 340 slot and video poker machines, table games like Blackjack, Baccarat, and Craps, a Poker Room, and Oro Nightclub.
Groups
Whatever the size or type of your group, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana can make your guests feel like Rock Royalty.
- The Convention Center capacity is 3,000.
- There is a separate Groups Lobby to welcome large parties.
- The property can host up to seven weddings a day. While this sounds like a lot, there are so many different areas to choose from. I saw several wedding setups during my visit. They were on the beach, on a rooftop, and in the gardens. None infringed on the other, or other guests.
- I will work with an on-site coordinator to help manage logistics, details, etc. It couldn’t be easier!
