Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Disney’s Pop Century Resort is a fun, family-friendly, value resort. Parents and grandparents will enjoy the walk down memory lane as the larger-than-life theming highlights pop culture from the1950s to the 1990s.

Set alongside Hourglass Lake, the resort couldn’t be any cuter if it tried.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort and sister property Disney’s Art of Animation Resort are on the Disney Skyliner aerial gondola system. In fact, they share the station. This makes transportation to/from Epcot and Hollywood Studios a breeze! Consider these whimsically themed gondolas your first attraction of the day. Even when my clients aren’t staying at a Skyliner resort, I encourage them to try the Disney Skyliner at least once.

Fun Fact:
Disney’s Pop Century Resort has the only floating Skyliner station.

In 2018, the resort completed its final phase of renovation. Though the rooms remain the same size, the décor is much more sophisticated, and a table bed / Murphy bed provide a flexible space for a family.

I’m not a fan of sofa beds as the mattresses tend to be thin and very poor quality. Going in, I didn’t have high expectations for the Table Bed. However, it was much more comfortable than I imagined. The mattress was softer than the other bed – I prefer a firm mattress – but I slept fine all three nights and did not have any lower back issues.

The pocket door to the water closet was another issue entirely. It’s rather heavy and makes an awful amount of noise for those early morning bathroom trips. But this is an exceptionally minor issue and did not detract from our overall stay.

Classic Hall at Pop Century is the main hub. This is where the lobby area, gift shop, and food court are housed. Just outside is the main pool area. We didn’t spend a lot of time here as we checked in online and hit the parks asap, but I did have the opportunity to do a little shopping before boarding the Magical Tragical Express for the journey home.

Final Thoughts

The fresh look of the rooms, and convenience of the Disney Skyliner puts Disney’s Pop Century Resort (and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort) at the top of my list for value resorts.

This wraps up my Girl’s Trip series. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about our kids-free trip! Any many thanks to the husbands who held the forts down while we were away. Have we mentioned yet that this will be an annual thing?! 😉
