Remember how I mentioned I’d post my Islands of Adventure post tomorrow? Let’s pretend the whole concept of time being a figment of our imagination applies to January as well. Ha!
Over in Islands of Adventure, the areas are divided into mythical lands featuring superheroes, beasts, and magical creatures. It seemed to storm every time we made it over there, but we trudged on nevertheless in our ponchos.
Once we entered Hogsmeade, the huge draw for Stinky and Blinky was Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey in Hogwarts Castle, and Butterbeer for me. We all wanted to ride Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, however, it does not yet utilize the Unlimited Express Pass and wait times were in excess of 200 minutes. We figured we’d just plan another trip once we can use a pass.
We’ve seen several shows before but this time we caught the Frog Choir.
Outside of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Poseidon’s Fury is always great fun!
Stinky and Blinky reluctantly agreed to indulge my request to visit Seuss Landing. We rode The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride, which offers fantastic views of the park btw!
And even went to see Grinchmas – Universal’s take on How the Grinch Stole Christmas – when the rain was particularly unbearable. This was quite the treat! Even Stinky couldn’t help but giggle in spite of himself.
DH used the time to catch up on his nap
The area is so beautiful at night, especially dressed for Christmas. See if you can find the Zamp in the Lamp.
We didn’t spend much time in Marvel’s Super Hero Island. Some people who shall not be named, feel they are too big for superheroes. Sigh!
Back in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle are a must-see!! It is a light, music, and firework spectacular that plays on select nights.
We saw numerous characters walking through the park during our visit. This Who-person was happy to have her picture made with Blinky and me.
Proof the DH obliged and wore a Hogwarts shirt to please his girls. Ladies, he’s a keeper!
Here’s Stinky proudly displaying his fully stamped Christmas Tree Scavenger Hunt card. It took him and me four days to complete. We collected our prizes – minion ornaments – just before leaving Islands of Adventure on our final park day.
Again, park-to-park tickets made park hopping a breeze, and the journey on the Hogwarts Express is so fun!
