We woke up on our last day determined to squeeze in as much as possible. We didn’t get far before we hit a literal road block. There was a stunt crew from the movie Free Guy filming and had temporarily blocked the streets. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see Ryan Reynolds but enjoyed watching for a few minutes. This reminded us of the time we were in Chicago and stumbled upon a scene being filmed for Chicago Fire.
Old State House
Once we got going again, our first stop was the Old State House.
I adore ornate, winding staircases
Just outside the Old State Capital is a marked area where The Boston Massacre occurred.
Granary Cemetery
Next we visited the Granary Cemetery where lots of notable figures are buried including Samuel Adams, Ben Franklin’s parents, and Paul Revere.
Ivy walls on the back side of the cemetery.
Boston Common
Up next was the Boston Common. This reminded me a lot of Hyde Park in London. There were families out for a stroll, college-aged kids playing Ultimate Frisbee, food trucks, boat rides, and pro/con abortion protests.
More Bernini dolphins!
I shared on my Instagram page everything we saw and did in Boston. This $4 Swan Boat ride was probably my favorite. 💘
We finished with a seafood feast near the water, and reluctantly headed back to the hotel to collect our things for the return trip home.
