La Vie Est Belle

Paris has always held a special place in my heart. Back in my college days, I would hop the Eurostar from London. I was wholly and completely enchanted. The memories of those early visits still bring a smile to my face. Over the years, I’ve returned to the City of Light several times, but my favorite memories are those we make with the teens.

Our main reason for adding Paris to the Fall Break itinerary was to end with a few days at Disneyland Paris. On learning the itinerary, the teens wanted to incorporate a day of sightseeing, so that’s just what we did.

We spent the majority of our day exploring the Palace of Versailles. The Palace of Versailles is an iconic symbol of opulence and grandeur, and a UNESCO World Heritage site located just outside Paris. Constructed in the 17th century, this historical masterpiece served as the principal residence of French kings, notably Louis XIV, until the French Revolution in 1789. Renowned for its exquisite architecture, lavish gardens, and ornate interiors, the palace stands as a testament to the wealth and power of the French monarchy.

Visitors can explore the Hall of Mirrors, the King’s and Queen’s Apartments, and the sprawling gardens. Here are some of my favorite photos!

It’s one thing to see photos in books and online, but to see the extent of the wealth in person was surreal, humbling even in a historical context. I don’t think this is something any of us will ever forget.

Did you know that very discerning clients can stay at the Palace of Versailles and enjoy exclusive, private, after hours tours?

Afterward we set off for the Eiffel Tower, as majestic as ever. We’ve been up to the very top before, so decided to skip the rather large crowd in favor of a walkabout. It was lovely seeing it from multiple viewpoints. We even recognized a few filming locations from one of our favorite French shows, Lupin.

Twilight on the Seine is remarkable. We enjoyed seeing couples at dinner on the water, and taking those iconic photos with the red balloons. Is there any more romantic city?!

Throwback to our 2017 visit. I still think this is the most perfect photo I’ve ever taken!

It was a beautiful day!
